#can we please take a look at how unfazed amy is #this is scary as all hell #if you had a 900 year old man yelling in your face you’d probably pee #i know i would #but she’s just like #you need me #and that’s her solution to the problem #you should’ve had me and you wouldn’t be acting this way #her face #look at it #so serious #so pained #because if she had been there #she could’ve helped him #and now he was doing stupid things #because she wasn’t there to keep his mind off of the memories #this man has killed thousands #he’s killed his own race #that’s so scary #but amy’s like #it’s my fault #like #help
this is what happens when you travel alone
- I don’t do that.
- Yeah, you do.
are you wearing any pants?
“Have you got anyone?”
“No. Traveling alone. I thought it was better, I thought… but I did some things, they went wrong… I need…”
The way the Doctor breaks down during this conversation with Wilf kills me. The Doctor is so relieved to have someone he trusts to talk to, to share a his burden. To talk about his fears, to lean on someone else a little.
Then Wilf won’t stop talking about Donna, urging him to speak to her again. Wilf means well, and the Doctor wants to talk to Donna so badly he can’t see straight. He’s so lonely and spun about and she’s the moral compass he needs. The temptation is so strong, you can actually see the Doctor’s body shaking as he wrestles with his need for Donna, with his desire to run into the street and see her face-to-face.
But he can’t. For her sake, he can’t.
And he has to remove himself from the situation — he has to stand up and physically walk away from Wilf, the only man on the planet he can really talk to about himself and what he’s going through — so he won’t give in to the temptation. The Doctor leaves the restaurant, leaves Wilf sitting alone in that booth, so he won’t go to his best friend and ask for her help and advice, because the mere sight of him will destroy her.
All my creys. Seriously. Every last one of them.
Stephen: Sorry mate, I’m doing this one.
Nick: No, open the door! Open it!
Stephen: Can’t do it, Nick. Can’t take the risk.
Nick: Stephen, open the door!
Stephen: Tell Abby and Connor, stay out of trouble.
